With more than 5.5 million people living with HIV, South Africa remains the country with the highest number of infected people in the world. As in much of Sub-Saharan Africa, the face of AIDS is more and more a female one, and in some areas of South Africa, women are three times as likely to be infected as men.

I came here to look at photos not watch clips. Pretty disappointing that what made your agency great is slowly dissolving because of Americianism. I thought Magnum would be the last to stand tall. Thats what I always admired.

I have just watched the South Africa video. The photography, the filming and the comments encapsulated a deeper issue that is the global construction of poor countries. However, whilst moved into despair at the appauling inequalties that our, as a western citizen, lifestyles dictate and profit demands trap, I can not help but feel hope and perhaps envy. The resilience of a community that has been ravaged by grotesque violence and now that suffers from AIDS was something hard to find in 'developed' countries. Dance, music and dignity are life qualities that should guide people.
